Katie moved to LA after graduating from college. There she began her career as a visual layout artist for a well known advertising company. Within no time, she managed to work her way up to a very nice manager position. After becoming an Esper, she learned that her ex-boyfriend, Jaken, is actually a fallen angel. Sometime after revealing this to her, he raped and impregnated her. A while later the unborn child's soul was stolen from her by Miriam, at Jaken's request. The child then became manifested at the age of ten, and was named Gowen by his father. After the defeat of Miriam, Gowen went with Katie of his own volition. Katie is doing her best to take care of the spry youth.
